Welcome

Until this weekend, I’ve been silent on my social media. I’ve been in a state of transition between finishing school and starting a new job that involves a commute. As much as I love writing, I had to take a step back and figure out where it fits into my life in terms of business. After working on the new look and logo for my brand, I was really pumped, but I told myself, “You have to make sure that you come back on the scene at the right time, and in the right way.”

For me, the time is now. 

About a month and a half ago, I made the choice to say good-bye to my blogging post with Proof Kitchen & Lounge, mainly because I felt that everything going on in my life would only get in the way of my being fully present in the position. It was a great way to get involved in the freelancing world, and I am grateful to all of the managers and employees that made this experience positive.

I’m also glad that I had the opportunity to write for two of my former bosses, Drew and Lloyd, at goodvibes juice company. I was one of the fortunate ones who got to work with them and grow alongside them in the first few months of their business. Now, they’re about to open their new location, and I couldn’t be more proud of them.

I’m still here. I’m still Khadijah, and these posts are still going to be written by me. I’ll still be writing for others, and also writing for myself in a way; I want to share my thoughts and opinions on societal issues. I’m also an avid reader, and will be sprinkling book reviews throughout this archive. Thank-you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you will continue to follow along on this journey.
