Why I Joined YouTube

That’s right; I’m on YouTube now! I’ve been posting shorts over the last few months, but I posted my first long form video near the end of January. It’s been a bit of a challenge getting into this new medium, but I’ve enjoyed taking it on.

The content I have planned to film and release so far is heavily inspired by a lot of posts on this website, as well as my old podcast that I used to have. I just wanted a new way to formalize my thoughts on all things marketing, and work life more generally.

Since branching into solopreneurship, I’ve had a lot of perspective changes and thought that chronicling those thoughts would be helpful to someone in a similar position to myself or those considering going out on their own.

It’s been a great way to experiment with video scripting, concepts, ideation, and editing. I’m very far from calling myself a professional at editing, but it’s been a productive use of my time to learn a new software. The editing software I’ve chosen to focus on is Adobe Premiere Pro. It’s known to be more complex than other favourites on the market, and I’m finding that to be true in my personal experience. However, it’s getting easier to work with as I spend more time in there.

Long story short, I joined YouTube to explore a new medium for my ideas, build editing schools, improve my scripting skills, and have a new creative outlet.

If you’ve read this, please take a moment to subscribe to my channel! I release content every Wednesday at minimum.
